LORD of Hosts
1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory.
Psalm 24

Happy Fourth of July!

A short prayer for our Nation:

Thank you Father for blessing our nation since its beginning on July 4, 1776, and help us all to appreciate that You are the source of those blessings. Give us the strength to not wander from the Word, and help bind us together as a nation when we pass through times that appear to be tearing us apart. Strengthen us and protect us in a dangerous world, and give our leaders wisdom and guidance as we deal with conflict and attacks from within and from beyond our borders. We ask this Father in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ.

We have been through some trying times and challenges to the Church Body recently. It is important to note however, that while man's laws may change, God's laws do not. More on that later, but today let's celebrate Independence Day. Of course the greatest freedom ever given to man by God was the freedom to be set free from the bondage to sin, which was paid for on the Cross by Jesus Christ.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)

Have a Happy and Blessed July 4 Celebration!

He is Alive!

It was out of perfect love that He was sent to the cross, reaching out to a fallen world to bring that world back to Him. He suffered on the cross for our sins, and then rose again with the promise that all who believed on His Name would also celebrate eternal life with Him.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 (KJV)

As you celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, make it a point to share the gospel with family, friends, and strangers, and let them know that they too can have eternal life in the presence of our Lord, as well as find peace in this life, in an increasingly troubled world.

Yours in Christ,

Netanyahu Speech to Congress

(In Case you missed it)

This may be the most important video that some of you never watched. Laughing at kitties on Youtube may be fun, but there are things going on in the background that may destroy YOUR life.

Hopefully this video will stay live for a while. The MSM (Main Stream Media) tried to divert attention from this, and the Democrats walked out on Netanyahu's speech, but your future health and welfare is being sold to the highest bidder. Remember that Iran calls Israel the "little satan", and calls America the "great satan".

Yours in Christ,

NBC News: "We Just Make It Up"

Brian Williams: Just Another Cog in the Myth Machine

Some of you have noticed the NBC protest logo before. It has been on the site for many years. I have no doubt that most have looked at the protest image and asked "why???". The recent news about Brian Williams is a symptom, not a cause. This is obvious on several levels, and of course the pressure for ratings at that level must be intense. It is the culture at NBC News that is at the root of the problem.

MSNBC: Just Say No                 MSNBC: Just Say No

The Myth Machine, aka NBC News, has a long history of fabricated and exaggerated news stories, such as the exploding gas tanks, fake/edited reporting of the George Zimmerman incident, Katrina hurricane reporting, politically slanted news stories that favor Democrats and attack Republicans during elections (ok, year around), and now completely falsified reporting by Brian Williams, claiming he was "shot down" in a helicopter in war - an incident that NEVER happened.

Most people would have no problem remembering if they were in a helicopter that was shot down in battle.

So... the Myth Machine, NBC News, marches on hoping you will forget their long history of falsified news and biased reporting... just like you forgot the fake reporting of gas tank explosions, and many other "errors" from NBC.

How to Cure Your NBC Myth Machine Addiction

Actually the cure is fairly simple: Grab your remote control, and switch from NBC/MSNBC to almost any other network. MSNBC is just another rebrand of the junk news, sensationalism, fabrication, and left wing slant of NBC News (and NBC parent organization). There is no essential difference between the MSNBC News Myth Machine, and the main source of mythical and slanted news: NBC News.

We are blessed in America with a press that has Constitutional rights to honestly investigate and report on important issues of the day. Most countries do not enjoy the blessings of a free press. We would hope that the *news* would at least try to represent the truth in America, and exercise "investigative journalism" in a responsible way. A popular question on TV lately (by other talking heads on TV) is whether Brian Williams is a liar, or just delusional. Perhaps the question is unkind, but flagrant abuse in a position of trust, by a news organization that purports to keep America "informed", does raise some serious questions about that organization. It is sad to see an organization like NBC become nothing more than a mix of biased news and fabrication, always operating with a bias towards the Democrat Party.

Regardless of the answer to the questions from the TV commentators (liar vs delusional), it might be wise to question what you are hearing and seeing on TV and other news media. Also question the agenda of those providing "news and entertainment" (hint: Saturday Night Live will start praising Democrats and trashing Republicans soon, an election is coming). Obviously the other MSM (Main Stream Media) have biased and fake reporting too, but NBC/MSNBC really sets the pace, turning biased and fake news into an art form.

Question: Don't You Have an Agenda? Yes, absolutely! Our agenda is first getting people saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who died on the cross for your sins, and then getting people into Christian fellowship and living the kinds of lives that God wants them to live. This is a "Conservative Christian" website, so it should come as no surprise that we oppose liberal politicians and politics and support conservative causes. The ultra-liberal NBC/MSNBC agenda is in opposition to many of the things that are important to most Christians, so our position on NBC/MSNBC News should be obvious.

Here is the original story from Stars & Stripes:
Stars & Stripes Story of Fake Brian Williams (NBC News) Reporting

In the Youtube below, Brian Williams repeats the myth, and part way through the video David Letterman describes Williams as "a true journalistic and war hero". cough cough... journalistic and war hero ... cough cough. Calling Brian Williams a "war hero" would be funny, except for the fact that it dishonors true war heroes.

Edit, 3/3/15

This section originally had a Youtube video of Brian Williams telling some of his "whoppers" where he made up news. NBC News has been busy deleting Youtube videos and hiding evidence. You really can't hide stuff like this, and we all know that NBC has been "caught, again" making up news.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 John 4:1 (KJV)

We are *obviously* not talking about prophets here, but America has a long history of investigational journalism and freedom of the press. The same lesson of 1 John 4:1 should be applied to news, and of course the government. It is important to be able to discern when groups or individuals are lying to you, or slanting the news towards a particular point of view.

News is important, and freedom of the press is listed explicitly in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It is a shame that NBC News is using its freedom to fabricate news, and act as a de facto branch of the Democrat Party. For years we have had a large collection of news links to help people stay informed (I really need to make the news links easier to navigate). I even have links to the ultra-liberal New York Times. However, what you won't find are links to NBC:

(end of 3/3/15 update)

When this story first surfaced, I was talking with friends about the Stars and Stripes article and said: "Who do you trust, Stars and Stripes and a bunch of veterans and service members (i.e., true war heroes) that were willing to lay down their lives to protect our nation, or a bunch of NBC / MSNBC reporters with a long history of lies, deceit, and Democrat Party talking points, and who appear to be members in good standing of the "I hate America club".

So why post this? Because truth is important, and some of you may think you are staying informed by watching NBC News or its partner in deceit and political slant, MSNBC. And now you also have a bit of an explanation of the "MSNBC - Just Say NO" political statement that has been around for many years. In my opinion, NBC and MSNBC has not had a professional news department for many years.

Yours in Christ,

Merry Christmas

As the Perfect Gift, God gave us His Son Jesus Christ in the flesh over 2000 years ago. As God the Son, He was with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit from the beginning... and now His birth as God the Son has been celebrated for 2000 years. God gave us His Son Jesus in unconditional and perfect love for fallen man. He knew we couldn't reach Him on our own strength, so He sent His Son, as a gift.

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:16-18 (KJV)

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:1-5, 14 (KJV)

What we celebrate at this time of year is not a date on the calendar, or another "end of the year holiday", but rather a celebration of God's Perfect Gift of His Son Jesus Christ, and His birth. One of the ways we celebrate is through gifts, charitable giving, and other acts of love. The famous "Love Chapter" in Corinthians gives us another view of Godly love.

1 Corinthians 12: The "Love" Chapter in KJV and NASB

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
1 Corinthians 12 (KJV)

1If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
5does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
9For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
10but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
11When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
12For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
13But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 12 (NASB)

While you are thinking about gifts, giving, love, and charity this year, here are a few suggestions for donations and ways to help others. Helping people in need is one of the best investments you can make in your life, and in the lives of others. The examples below are just a small sample of great places for charitable giving. Some of the examples are international in scope while others are local. I encouarge all of you to donate to these or other charities as the Lord leads you.

Samaritan's Purse is a world famous Christian charity founded by Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham. The organization is known for helping in the world's most difficult human crises ranging from famine to ebola, and of course spreading the gospel. Perhaps you can help these people share Christian love throughout the world!

The Wounded Warrior Project helps our men and women in uniform that were wounded in battle, defending our freedom and liberty. That would be the same freedom that allows us to post the gospel online. Some of these men and women came home with severe injuries, and this wonderful organization helps in providing special equipment and support. Please show your support for those defending our nation by helping in any way you can.

We Extend Our Prayers and Support to the Families of the Fallen New York Police Officers

We would like to extend our prayers to the families of the two New York police officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, that were murdered this week in the line of duty. We also extend our prayers to the many other officers that have been injured over the years, and to the families of the fallen police men and women who gave their lives protecting our society. The role of police, and law and order in a society, is clearly outlined in Romans 13 as well as many other parts of the Bible. You can show your support for law and order by supporting your local police.

This support may take some "detective work" on your part since many of the organizations are local. One tip, as a general rule, is to avoid charities that call you on the phone (unless you absolutely know and trust the person calling). Many of these "cold calling" charities claim to represent a charitable organization, but the truth is that they keep the majority of funds and give a tiny portion to the real charity "to make it legal".

If you know of a reputable organization that supports the fallen police in New York, or at a national level, please let us know and we will link to them.

Yours in Christ, and have a very Merry Christmas,

Happy Thanksgiving!

We would like to thank and praise the Lord for blessing us with the ability to spread His Word for another year! In the last few months we have managed to break major sections of the site, and then put them back together with the Lord's help. The ability to spread God's Word is one of the greatest blessings a person can have, and we are thankful for His blessing us with the ability to do just that.

We started this site about 20 years ago, back in the days when sites like this would routinely consist of a collection of files all located in the "document root" (all files in the same directory). A couple of decades later it has become abundantly clear why "you shouldn't do that". We take full credit for the "poor design choices", and as usual, if we get anything right the full credit goes to the Lord! We will continue to do some architectural work in the background, and Lord willing hope to add some new things in the future.

As you sit down to dinner this evening, take time out to remember the source of all blessings... and make a point of telling somebody about Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and what He has done with your life. Make an effort to spread God's greatest blessing of all - salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ, and Happy Thanksgiving,

Web Site Update - Moving Things Around

We recently started some site changes, so some of you might experience a few broken links as we move things around. All of the new link locations are in the table of contents, on the left side of the main page towards the top of www.Christ.com. Some of these old links have been obsolete for years, so we did a little cleanup. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we needed a few changes to the site before continuing with the Lord's work...

We will continue with cleanup and a few more moves in the next few weeks, and Lord willing fix a few problems around the site. Praise God we are still doing His work after all these years. We have learned a lot along the way, and will continue to press on in spreading the gospel of salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ,

Jesus is Alive!

Hallelujah, He is risen, and He is alive! The fact that Jesus Christ is alive, today, as the Son of God and our Lord and Saviour is what Christians throughout the world celebrate this time of year. When He conquered death on the Cross, He paid a price for our sins that we could never pay.

1In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
(Matthew 28:1-7, KJV)

36And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43And he took it, and did eat before them.
(Luke 24:36-43, KJV)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(John 1:1, KJV)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(John 1:14, KJV)

And He still dwells among us, Praise God! When He rose from the tomb He showed all of us the way to eternal life: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" (John 1:14, KJV), and has made this gift available for free... if you ask.

4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(Ephesians 2:4-9, KJV)

We really do serve a living God, so make a point about telling somebody about it... every day. Remember: Their life depends on it. So spread the blessing by telling others about Jesus, and the fact that He is risen.

God bless you,

Merry Christmas!

We would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! Every year (and hopefully daily) we celebrate the greatest gift ever given. The giver, of course, is God the Father, and the Gift was His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, and given to His people. He sent us this gift to reach out to a sinful world with forgiveness, and show us the one and only way to salvation and eternal life.

6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
(Isaiah 9:6-7, KJV)

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
(Micah 5:2, KJV)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16, KJV)

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
(Revelation 3:20, KJV)

12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
(Revelation 22:12-13, KJV)

So as we celebrate and share gifts with loved ones this Christmas season, remember to talk to others about some of the gifts they may have left unopened - for years. God gives you an entire lifetime to open this free gift of salvation... the catch is that only He knows the number of your days.

Have a very Blessed Christmas,

Happy Thanksgiving

In America we take this time every year to offer our thanks and praise for His love and faithfulness in everything He does. We here at Christ.com would also like to express our thanks for His help with our website. It is, after all, His website, and we are just stewards of what He has given us. That never changes. As you sit around the table this Thanksgiving with friends and family, take time out to remember the source of all blessings!

Speaking of changes, we are in the middle of a major rework of the site. This has been an ongoing project now for about two months, with architectural changes being made that impact almost every section of the site. Whenever there are changes in software it is inevitable that things break, and so it is at the Lord of Hosts site. We have also taken a few things offline, and may or may not bring them back in the future. Lord willing, we hope to have the architectural changes online in about another month or two. Once complete we will begin adding new content. It was almost impossible to make significant changes without first doing a major architectural rework. We are aware that some of you are having problems connecting to the site, so we would like to thank you in advance for your patience... the patience of Job.

7Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

(James 5:7-11, KJV)

God bless all of you, and remember to thank the Lord this Thanksgiving for being the source of all blessings,

Easter: Spreading the Gospel - Tell Someone

1My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
9But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
26The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
27All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28For the kingdom is the Lord's: and he is the governor among the nations.
29All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

(Psalms 22:1-31, KJV)

God bless you, and as it says in the last verse above, make a point of telling somebody today, tomorrow, and everyday that He is Risen!

Merry Christmas!

During this holiday season we would like to start off by lifting up in prayer the families of those murdered in Newtown CT.

So why should we be merry during Christmas after something like this? For the same reason we always rejoice in the Lord, in good times and in bad times, every day of the year. He certainly knows that we live in a fallen world, and that we are given the choice of good or evil, and some people choose evil. As often said, God did not want to create robots that love Him, since love that is forced where the individual has no choice is a meaningless love. We rejoice because we know that this earth in its current form is not our final home.

This should be a reminder to everybody that only the Lord knows how your days are numbered, so if you or a family member or friend does not yet have Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, then there is no better time than NOW to come to the Lord with repentence and a real saving faith. It is never too late to come to the Lord as long as you are still in "this world". However, since none of us know when the Lord will send us to our final resting place, then don't count on your ability to come to a saving faith "when you are older", since that may not happen.

Even in times like these, or perhaps "especially" in times like these, it is important to remember why we celebrate Christmas, and why we sing songs like "Joy to the World" and others.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

(Psalm 46:1, KJV)

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

God bless you, and Joy to the World, the Lord is come,

He is Risen!

Praise the Lord, He is Risen!

That is the message for today,

and we praise Him every day. God bless you,

Should a Christian Vote for a Mormon?

Jesus and Tim In Las Vegas:
Guest: Ed Decker

The voters have some tough decisions coming up in this election. In this election we might have a Mormon as a front runner on the Republican side versus an incumbent pro-abortion President.

All mainstream Christian organizations have rejected the Mormons (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, LDS) as "brethren" in a spiritual sense (i.e., we do not believe they are part of the overall "Church" or Body of Christ). We do believe that Mormons are strictly outside the Christian Church. While the various denominations disagree on a wide variety of matters, the one thing that they do agree on is that the Mormon faith is not a saving Christian faith as described in the Bible. As with other non-Christian faiths and religions, like Islam, Buddhism, atheism, Jehovah's Witnesses, and many others, we are to love our Mormon brothers and sisters, but we need to keep in mind that when we are praying we are praying to different gods.

Tim's guest Ed Decker has been witnessing to Mormons for decades through his "Saint's Alive" Ministry. Tim and Ed compare Mormonism to true Christianity, and Tim asks Ed if he could vote for a Mormon for President of the USA, like Mitt Romney. Ed answers "Absolutely Not, unequivocally, without even blinking". He says it is never going to be a choice between Romney and Obama, but suggests there are many people that a person could vote for or write-in instead of Romney or Obama, for example Herman Cain or your aunt.

God bless you,

Merry Christmas

This year we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas with a collection of verses from our Bible Verse of the Day. Remember to "love the Lord thy God" every day throughout the year, just as we thank Him and praise Him this season for sending His Son Jesus to be born as our Saviour.

For those of you that may have dropped by and are searching for something, perhaps not even sure why you are here, or what you are searching for: the answer is God. He will talk to you for free, and gives great advice! Listen to His answers, and try to follow them. If you do not yet know Him, you start by confessing that you are a sinner, and that you would like to have your sins forgiven through His Son Jesus Christ, and that you would like to have a relationship with Him. You start that relationship by prayer, and reading the Bible, and going to a Bible believing Church. But you can start right now by prayer, and reading His Word:

6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
(Isaiah 9:6-7, KJV)

1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
(Isaiah 11:1-3, KJV)

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
(Micah 5:2, KJV)

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
(Zechariah 12:10, KJV)

10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
(Luke 2:10-14, KJV)

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
(John 1:1-4, KJV)

14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ
(John 1:14-17, KJV)

God bless you, and Merry Christmas,

Jesus and Tim in Las Vegas

Tim Berends has been on Christian radio for over 40 years, with a ministry that includes witnessing to Muslims in the mideast, witnessing to gangs, jail ministry, witnessing on the Vegas strip, and his live radio show "Jesus and Tim in Las Vegas". Show topics frequently focus on essential Christian doctrine, with interviews covering topics like evangelism, world religions, doctrinal errors, and false Church and cult organizations like the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. Tim is also a good friend, and I write the commentaries for his shows and host his site to help lift his ministry.

Please note that the radio show is Tim's separate ministry, and we add the usual disclaimers for external content: "We do not necessarily agree or disagree with the content, comments, viewpoints, or hair color of the links or other external content". We encourage you to support Tim's ministry directly, and listen to his weekly radio show on Christian radio KKVV in Las Vegas.

We will try to select the shows we feel might be most interesting to our readers, and post them on our front page at Christ.com. In the box below we have posted his show and notes from 8/13/11, in which a Director from the Voice of the Martyrs is interviewed. Note, the box below will contain the latest interview - so the VOM interview will rotate out to the newest interview:

God bless you,

Happy Easter

We would like to pass on our prayers and blessings as we celebrate our Risen Saviour this day. This is a difficult time in our economy as we witness the destruction of our currency and severe inflation in food and energy. The Lord knows your needs, even before you ask, so keep this in mind when dealing with difficult times, and of course keep the faith.

6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
(Matthew 6:6-13, KJV)

Something to think about and pray over is that God the Father made an investment in YOU. He created you, and loves you so much that He sent His Son to the cross to pay for your sins. All He asks in return is that you put your faith and trust in Him alone, and build a relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. If you have not yet built that relationship, there is no better time to start than now. You can start right now by confessing your sins, and asking for His forgiveness, and getting to know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. You cannot earn your own salvation by works, and you can never be "good enough" on your own merits to be saved. However, God the Father did make a way for you to be saved for free through the shed blood of His Son Jesus on Cross. Jesus paid a price for you on the Cross that you can never pay, and all He asks in return for this free gift is your faith in what He did for you. One of the best ways to start building that relationship is to get into a good Bible believing Church that trusts the Bible alone as the inerrant Word of God, and learn about what He did for you when He went to the cross.

He is Risen,

Merry Christmas!

God bless all of you this Christmas! The Christmas season is the time we set aside for remembering the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. While it comes around only once per year, we need to be in fellowship with Him 365 days a year. There are some that only go to Church on Christmas and Easter, perhaps out of "tradition", but a real relationship takes work, and time. Relationships are not about "things", but about time spent with those we love, and about communication and sharing in the joys and pains we all have in life - and so it is with a relationship with God the Father and His Son Jesus. It takes time.

To grow in this relationship takes time and communication with God. So this season, take some time to pray and read God's Word, the Bible. That is the way we communicate with Him, and He always blesses our attempts at building this relationship. So as you open your Christmas presents, take some time to give thanks to the Great Provider that makes all good things possible. The cost of this blessing is zero, and the benefit is eternal life. So how is that for a cost/benefit analysis!

(John 1:1-4, KJV)

Merry Christmas,

Happy Thanksgiving!

As we gather together this Thanksgiving to celebrate with family and friends, it is important to take time out and pray over just what the holiday is about. The holiday is a special time where we thank the Lord for everything He has done in our lives, and of course thank Him for our very existence. God loved the world so much that He had His Son go to the cross to bring us into a relationship with Him.

Even though we may be personally and as a nation going through difficult times, there is so much to thank Him for that it is important to take time out to give thanks. Of course, we should also be giving thanks every day for the blessings of the Lord:

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(Phillippians 4:6-7, KJV)

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Phillippians 4:6-7, NASB)

Perhaps some of you reading this are missing out on the "peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension", or perhaps you, a friend, or a loved one do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. If that is the case, there is no better time to start on that road to peace than now! While there is no guarantee that you will not have problems in this life, what you are guaranteed is that you will find a kind of peace in troubled times that the ways of the world will never deliver. The best way to start down this road is to find a good Bible believing Church, and start attending, and spending time daily in God's Word, the Bible.

God bless all of you this Thanksgiving,

Moishe Rosen:
Jews for Jesus founder Now with the Lord

We extend our prayers to the families and friends of Moishe Rosen, the founder of Jews for Jesus, who went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2010. He was loved by millions in his ministry efforts. The Jews for Jesus ministry is famous for reaching out to those still looking for the Messiah, and explaining in love that His return came in the form of Jesus, the Christ. I have supported this ministry in the past (Jews for Jesus), since I believed (and believe) in what they are doing: Bringing people to salvation, by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Moishe Rosen has brought many people into a personal saving relationship with Christ, and is now resting in peace with the Prince of Peace, the Messiah.

Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
(Romans 9:27, KJV)

(Romans 9:27, NASB)

28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
(Romans 2:28-29, KJV)

28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.
29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
(Romans 2:28-29, NASB)

Psalms 122:6

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and also pray that Israel comes to know the Lord in the same way that Moishe Rosen came to know the Lord, the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, the Son of God the Father. Moishe Rosen was circumcised in the heart, a part of the remnant Israel, and a mighty warrior in the Spiritual war for souls. Moishe Rosen is now with the Lord. Praise God.

in Him,

Bad Congressman:
Bob Etheridge (Dem-NC)

Apparently some members of the Democrat party are feeling the heat of their bad decisions, and taking it out on anybody that questions what they view as divine wisdom. In the video below, one of the these self anointed wise men, Bob Etheridge (Democrat - North Carolina) of the U.S. Congress, physically attacks a college student for simply asking him a question. In every state in the union, this action by Mr. Etheridge (Democrat - North Carolina) would be an act of assault. Of course the laws don't apply to liberals in the government the way they apply to normal citizens who, apparently, have no rights to ask a simple question of a Congressman (that supposedly works "We the People...").

One of many excellent Bible passages that applies to this situation (bad Congressman Bob Etheridge) is Proverbs 16:18, which deals with issues of pride and haughtiness:

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

(Proverbs 16:18, KJV)

Mr. Etheridge is regarded as one of the most arrogant and haughty members of the U.S. Congress. It is time to do a little House Cleaning this November and send this man and his worthless ideas from the Marxist/Socialist party packing. Given his recent behavior, it appears that a better place for Mr. Etheridge would be jail rather than the U.S. House of Representatives. Remember the college student was politely asking a question, and was subjected to the typical response of the party in power: "Who are YOU to question what I do?" The answer of course is that the college student was a member of the electorate, part of "We the People".

This is the same behavior that has also been displayed more than a few times by Mr. Obama... A recent story published in the New York Times, famous for its ultra-liberal (pro-Marxist) views of the world, suggested that members of the Democrat party are now deliberately avoiding town halls and other means of speaking to citizens, to avoid heated questions and debate about their poor performance:

If the time-honored tradition of the political meeting is not quite dead, it seems to be teetering closer to extinction. Of the 255 Democrats who make up the majority in the House, only a handful held town-hall-style forums as legislators spent last week at home in their districts.

It was no scheduling accident.

With images of overheated, finger-waving crowds still seared into their minds from the discontent of last August, many Democrats heeded the advice of party leaders and tried to avoid unscripted question-and-answer sessions. The recommendations were clear: hold events in controlled settings — a bank or credit union, for example — or tour local businesses or participate in community service projects.

Full Article: NY Times: Democrats Skip Town Halls to Avoid Voter Rage

It is time to send a message to the U.S. Congress in general, and Mr. Etheridge in particular, that our elected representatives are there to serve us, not to be served. When elected representatives like Mr. Etheridge no longer represent the will of the people, and treat the voting populace with outright arrogance and hostility, it is time to vote them out of office!

Why do these political issues matter to Christians? Because the current party in power has been destroying the very freedoms and economy that made our nation great, and that gave us an environment where Christianity can flourish.

Blessed is He Who Comes in the Name of the LORD!

Happy Palm Sunday! This might be a good time to ask a friend to join you for Church services next week. Some of you may have not been to a Church service in years, so this might be a great opportunity to renew your faith and build on your relationship with God the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ:

23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

(Hebrews 10:23-25, KJV)

God sent His Son to the Cross to bring you into a relationship with Him, and that takes time - time in the form of prayer, worship, Bible study, and fellowship with other believers. Make it a point to build on this relationship, and continue in your spiritual growth throughout the year.

1And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

(Matthew 21:1-9, KJV)

Palm Sunday Blessings to All of YOU,

Laughter Doeth Good Like A Medicine

While the problems in the economy are serious, it is frequently good to step back and take a good look and laugh at the socialist takeover of all things economic... a system that has failed everywhere it has been tried. A friend sent this YouTube video to me, and it is good for a laugh. The person doing the video has a long history of Clean Comedy, with his act starting in the Churches. From his Bio: "His art form was honed primarily in churches, with a brief 6-month stint performing in prisons as part of Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship." Clean comedy is an "endangered species" in this fallen world, so this is worth a look.

OK, maybe a bit political, but if you have been watching for the last 14 years, this is a Christian Conservative website. Tim's website is at www.TimHawkins.net. There are a few (ahem... very few) Clean Christian Comedians left, so this one is worth a look.

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine
